OFFICIAL RULES



To participate in the Contest, you must agree to and abide by these Official Rules.

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING. YOU MUST HAVE INTERNET ACCESS AND A VALID EMAIL ADDRESS TO PARTICIPATE. GRAND PRIZE WINNER MUST TRAVEL EITHER FEBRUARY 27-29, 2020 OR MARCH 5-7, 2020.s


  1. Sponsor: American Broadcasting Companies, Inc., 500 S. Buena Vista Street, Burbank, CA 91521 (“Sponsor”);

  2. Administrator: CSM Sport and Entertainment Inc., 440 9th Avenue, 17th Floor, New York, NY 10001 (“Administrator”).

  3. Eligibility: "The Conners Name that Stew Contest" ("Contest") is open only to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States and the District of Columbia, who are at least 18 years of age (or the age of majority in the jurisdiction of their residence, whichever is older) at time of entry. Any individuals (including but not limited to employees, consultants, independent contractors, and interns) who have, within the past six (6) months, performed services for Sponsor, Administrator, any organizations responsible for sponsoring, fulfilling, administering, advertising or promoting the Contest or supplying the prize, persons involved in the creation, development or production (including cast and crew) of The Conners television show (the “Show”) and the entities owned and operated by those persons (collectively, the “Promotion Entities”), and immediate family and household members of such individuals, are not eligible to participate or win any prize. "Immediate family members" shall mean parents, step-parents, children, step-children, siblings, step-siblings, or spouses, regardless of where they live. "Household members" shall mean people who share the same residence at least three months a year, whether related or not. Potential winners may be required to provide proof of legal residency upon request prior to prize award. Void where prohibited.

  4. Contest Schedule: The Contest begins on or about 12:00:01 p.m. Eastern Time (“ET”) on 1/16/20 and ends 11:59:59 p.m. ET on 1/23/20 (“Contest Period”). Administrator’s computer is the official clock for the Contest.

  5. How to Enter the Contest:

    Navigate the internet to www.TheConnersContest.com (the “Website”). Submit a creative name for a stew for the Lanford Lunchbox menu that captures the essence of The Conners. To enter the Contest, you will be required to provide your full name, email address, phone number, and, your name for the stew (“Stew Name” or “Entry”). Entry must be no more than 75 characters.

    To submit your Entry, click the "Submit" or similar button on the entry form. Proof of entering information at the Website is not considered proof of delivery to or receipt by Sponsor of such Entry.

    Check the box agreeing that you meet the Contest eligibility requirements, have read, understand and fully adhere to these Official Rules and the Sponsor’s Terms of Use (https://disneytermsofuse.com/) and Privacy Policy (https://privacy.thewaltdisneycompany.com/en/current-privacy-policy/). Click the designated button to submit your Entry. IF THIS BOX IS NOT CHECKED, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ENTER THE CONTEST.

    LIMIT ONE (1) ENTRY PER PERSON DURING THE CONTEST PERIOD. Multiple entries in excess of this limitation or mass entry attempts will result in disqualification of all entries by such person. In the event that the same or substantially identical Stew Name is submitted by more than one (1) person, as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion, the Stew Name will be deemed to be submitted by the first person from whom the Entry was received. Entries must be manually key-stroked; use of automated entry devices or programs is prohibited. In the event of a dispute over who submitted an Entry, the Entry will be deemed to have been submitted by the authorized account holder of the e-mail account identified on the entry form. The authorized account holder is deemed to be the natural person who is assigned to an e-mail address by an Internet access provider, service provider, or online organization responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address.

    By submitting an Entry, each entrant grants Sponsor and each of their respective designees a perpetual, non-exclusive, irrevocable, fully-paid, royalty-free, sub-licensable and transferable (in whole or part) worldwide license to use, reproduce, transmit, display, exhibit, distribute, create derivative works based upon, publicly perform and otherwise exploit the Entry, in whole or in part, in all media formats and channels now known or hereafter devised for any and all purposes including entertainment, news, advertising, promotional, marketing, publicity, trade or commercial purposes, all without further notice to the entrant, with or without attribution, and without the requirement of any permission from or payment to the entrant or to any other person or entity.

    Entrant further expressly acknowledges that Sponsor does not owe him/her a duty of confidence (or fiduciary duty or the like) with regard to his/her Entry and that Sponsor has wide access to ideas, stories and other literary/artistic materials submitted to it from outside sources or being developed by its own employees and that such ideas/stories/photos/designs/recipes/literary/artistic materials may be competitive with, similar to (or even identical to) the Entry submitted by entrant and that Sponsor shall have no liability to entrant or any third party in conjunction therewith.

    Entries may not contain, and Sponsor, in its sole discretion, may disqualify any Entry that contains any content that: violates or infringes any right of any third party, including but not limited to intellectual property rights; is defamatory, slanderous, libelous, scandalous or obscene; includes reference to any individuals (other than the designated characters in The Conners) unless entrant has first obtained the consent of any named/depicted/described person as set forth herein; is sexually explicit or suggestive; is derogatory of any ethnic, racial, gender, religious, professional or age group; is profane or pornographic; or is otherwise inappropriate, objectionable, or unsuitable for the uses contemplated in these Official Rules, as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion.

    If an Entry is unable to be viewed by the Sponsor for any reason whatsoever, that Entry shall be disqualified, and Sponsor and its designees will not be responsible or liable for any such inability.

    Stew Name must be the original work of the entrant (DO NOT COPY OTHERS’ WORKS, IN WHOLE OR IN PART), may not have been previously published or distributed through any media channel, may not have won previous awards, and must not infringe upon the copyrights, trademarks, rights of privacy, publicity or other intellectual property or other rights of any person or entity. By submitting an Entry, each entrant Each entrant represents that his/her Entry: (i) is completely the original work of the entrant; and (ii) does not violate or infringe upon the trademark, copyright, rights of privacy, rights of publicity, or any other rights, of any kind of nature, of any other person or entity. If Sponsor, in its sole discretion, has reason to believe that any Entry contains any material that may infringe or violate any law or any rights of a third party, Sponsor may disqualify such Entry and take all other measures Sponsor may deem appropriate.

  6. Contest Judging: All eligible Entries received and recorded during the Contest Period will be judged by Sponsor and Administrator based on the following criteria: Creativity/Originality of Stew Name (50%); and How well Stew Name captures the essence of The Conners (50%). Subject to the terms herein, the highest scored Entry will be considered the Contest Winner. In the event of a tie, the Entry from among all such tied entries with the higher/highest score in the “How well Stew Name captures the essence of The Conners” criterion will be considered the potential Prize Winner.

  7. Winner Notification: The potential winner will be notified by e-mail on or about 1/31/20. Failure to respond to the initial verification e-mail within seventy-two (72) hours after notification or return of e-mail notification as undeliverable after 2 attempts will result in disqualification. Potential winner will be required to sign and return within three (3) business days of notification an Affidavit of Eligibility, Release and Indemnification, W-9 tax form, Grant of Rights, and a Publicity Release where allowed by law (“Winner Documents”). If the Winner Documents are not returned to Sponsor within the specified time period, the potential winner may be disqualified. If the potential winner is disqualified for any reason, the prize will be forfeited without compensation of any kind and will be awarded to an alternate winner (time permitting). The alternate winner will be the individual entrant with the next highest score as per Section 6.

  8. Grand Prize, Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”):

    Grand Prize (1 Winner): One (1) Grand Prize winner will receive a 3-day/2-night trip for the Grand Prize winner and one (1) guest to Los Angeles, CA to attend a taping of the The Conners (“Trip”). The Grand Prize includes: round-trip, coach-class air transportation for the Grand Prize winner and one (1) guest to Los Angeles, CA area from an airport near Grand Prize winner’s residence; 3-day/2-night hotel accommodations (one room, double occupancy) in a hotel of Sponsor’s choice in the Los Angeles area; round trip ground transportation to and from Los Angeles area airport and hotel, as well as round trip ground transportation to and from hotel and The Conners set. ARV of Grand Prize: $3,000.00.

    Grand Prize trip must be taken either February 27-29, 2020 or March 5-7, 2020 to coincide with the Show’s taping schedule. If potential Grand Prize winner is unavailable to travel during one (1) of the designated timeframes for any reason, Grand Prize will be forfeited in its entirety without compensation of any kind and an alternate winner with the next highest score as per Section 6 will be selected (time permitting). Once travel is booked, travel dates cannot be changed unless by Sponsor in its sole discretion. If Grand Prize winner is unable to travel once the travel dates are booked, the Grand Prize will be forfeited in its entirety and Sponsor will have no further obligations to the Grand Prize winner. Grand Prize winner and guest must travel together on specified itinerary, including same departure date, destination and return date or Grand Prize may be forfeited in its entirety. Certain documentation and requirements may be necessary for travel, such as photo identification. Grand Prize winner and his/her guest are solely responsible for any documentation and requirements and determining applicable procedures and restrictions. In addition, the Grand Prize winner may be required to present a valid credit card at the hotel at the time of check-in. Grand Prize winner and guest must provide own transportation to and from departure airport.

    There is no retail value associated with the Show taping portion of the Grand Prize. Sponsor makes no representation as to the participation or appearance of any Show talent (i.e., cast and crew) in the Show taping component of the Grand Prize. In the event the Grand Prize winner is able to participate in the Trip as scheduled but the Show taping does not or cannot take place as scheduled or at all, for reasons including but not limited to scheduling conflicts, cancellations, postponement, location changes, an event of force majeure, or for any other reason, Sponsor reserves the right to award the remainder of the prize with no further obligation to the Grand Prize winner. Show taping is subject to, and Sponsor is not responsible for, changes to production schedule, production exigencies or delays, postponements or cancellation of the Show.

    Actual final value of the Grand Prize may vary depending upon point of departure, dates of trip once finally determined, and fare fluctuations; and, under no circumstances will winner receive the difference between ARV and actual final value of Grand Prize trip in cash. If Grand Prize winner lives within 150 miles of the Los Angeles area (as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion), he/she will receive, in lieu of air transportation, round-trip local transportation between Grand Prize winner’s residence and hotel and no additional prize or compensation will be awarded. The Grand Prize winner is solely responsible for all other expenses related to trip not specified herein, including but not limited to: roundtrip transportation between winner’s residence and departure airport, airline baggage fees, tips, taxes, travel insurance and hotel incidentals. Air transportation tickets are non-refundable/non-transferable and are not valid for upgrades and/or frequent flyer miles. All air transportation tickets are subject to the vagaries of flight variation, work stoppages and schedule or route changes. Sponsor and its agencies are not liable for any expenses incurred as a consequence of flight cancellation/delay.

    Grand Prize winner’s guest must be at least eighteen (18) years of age and must sign and return a travel release prior to issuance of any travel documents. A minor may accompany winner as a travel guest only if the winner is the minor’s parent or legal guardian and at least twenty-one years of age. If Grand Prize Winner does not have a guest accompany them on the trip, the prize will otherwise be awarded in increments appropriate for one (1) traveler (i.e., the Grand Prize Winner); and, in such event, no substitute prize or additional compensation will be awarded to Grand Prize Winner.

    Grand Prize winner and his/her guest must follow all instructions of Sponsor and/or show personnel (as applicable) relative to the Grand Prize Trip. Failure to do so may result in forfeiture of the prize. Should Grand Prize winner and/or guest fail to adhere to any such instructions or engage in unruly, obnoxious, illegal, threatening, or otherwise inappropriate behavior (as determined by Sponsor or Show personnel in their sole discretion), Sponsor reserves the right, without further notice or warning, to terminate the Trip or other applicable experience early, in whole or in part, and send Grand Prize winner and/or winner’s travel guest home and/or take other actions as Sponsor deems appropriate in their sole discretion without any liability or other obligation to winner or guest.

  9. Additional Prize Restrictions: Any costs and incidentals not specified herein are the winner’s sole responsibility. No substitution or transfer of prize except with Sponsor’s permission. Sponsor in its sole discretion may award a substitute prize or prize component of equal or greater value if advertised prize/prize component is unavailable at time of awarding for any reason. Any images of prizes/prize components in advertising are for illustrative purposes only and actual items awarded as prizes/prize components may differ from such images. All federal, state and/or local taxes are the sole responsibility of the Grand Prize winner who will receive an IRS Form 1099 reflecting the actual final retail value of the Grand Prize.

  10. Limitations of Liability: Sponsor and its agencies (including Administrator) are not responsible for failed, partial or garbled computer transmissions, or for technical failures of any kind, including but not limited to human, typographical, printing or electronic malfunction or damage of any network, hardware or software. If for any reason the Contest (in whole or in part) is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud or technical failures beyond Sponsor's control that corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Contest, Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest (in whole or in part) and/or disqualify any individual who tampers with (or attempts to tamper with) the entry process/operation of the Contest (or any part thereof). In such event, Sponsor shall conduct the Contest and make prize available for the affected part(s) of the Contest in a manner which is fair, appropriate and consistent with the spirit of these Official Rules, as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion. Notice of cancellation/termination/ modification/suspension of Contest will be posted on the Website. No responsibility is assumed for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, entries/points; or any problems or technical malfunctions of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any e-mail, or electronic entry/point to be received (or recorded, as the case may be) on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to yourself or any other person's computer or mobile device (or data/information stored thereon) related to or resulting from participation in or downloading any materials from this Contest.

    You further agree not to knowingly damage or cause interruption of the Contest and/or prevent others from participating in the Contest. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT TO DAMAGE ANY ONLINE SERVICE OR WEBSITE OR OTHERWISE UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE CONTEST VIOLATES CRIMINAL OR CIVIL LAWS. IF SUCH AN ATTEMPT IS MADE OR AN INDIVIDUAL OTHERWISE ATTEMPTS TO DEFRAUD SPONSOR, SPONSOR MAY DISQUALIFY ANY INDIVIDUAL ENTRANT MAKING SUCH ATTEMPT AND SEEK DAMAGES TO THE FULLEST EXTENT OF THE LAW.

  11. Additional Conditions of Participation: By participating, each entrant agrees: (a) to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of Sponsor and Administrator, which shall be final in all respects; and (b) to release, discharge and hold harmless the Promotion Entities, each of their respective advertising and promotion agencies, each of the foregoing entities’ respective parent, subsidiary, related, affiliated and successor companies, and each of their respective officers, directors, agents, representatives and employees (collectively, the “Released Parties”) from any and all actions, claims, injury, loss or damage, including, without limitation, death and bodily injury, arising in any manner, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from participation in this Contest or any Contest-related activity, and/or from entrant’s acceptance, receipt, use or misuse of the prize. Without limiting the foregoing, Sponsor makes no warranty, representation or guarantee of any kind regarding the Prize, including the warranty of merchantability or fitness for intended purpose.

    By accepting the prize, winner grants Sponsor, and its designees permission to use their name, voice, likeness, photograph, prize information, biographical data and city and state of residence on a winner’s list and for programming, publicity and promotional purposes, worldwide in all forms of media now known or hereafter developed, in perpetuity, without further compensation unless prohibited by law. Sponsor and its designees are not obligated to use any of the above mentioned information or materials, but may do so and may edit such information or materials, at Sponsor’s sole discretion, without further obligation or compensation. Contest subject to the laws of the United States only. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. All entries become the property of Sponsor and will not be acknowledged.

  12. Disputes/Arbitration/ Choice of Law: Except where prohibited, entrants agree that: (a) any and all disputes, claims, and causes of action arising out of or connected with this Contest, or the awarding of prize/determination of prize winner, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and exclusively by arbitration pursuant to the Rules of JAMS, then effective (notwithstanding the foregoing, entrant shall not be precluded from seeking relief in small claims court for disputes/claims within the scope of the jurisdiction of small claims court and any remedies available to entrant under applicable federal, state or local law remain available to entrant and are not waived pursuant to this section); (b) any and all claims, judgments and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, including costs associated with entering this Contest but in no event attorneys’ fees; and (c) under no circumstances will entrant be permitted to obtain awards for and entrant hereby waives all rights to claim punitive, incidental and consequential damages and any other damages, other than for actual out-of-pocket expenses, any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased and any and all rights to injunctive relief. The arbitrator hearing such dispute/claim/cause of action shall be neutral and the entrant will have a reasonable opportunity to participate in the selection of the arbitrator. Such arbitration will take place at a location near the entrant’s residence and the entrant has the right to an in-person hearing in the arbitration proceeding, if desired. The arbitration will allow for the discovery and/or exchange of non-privileged information between entrant and Sponsor. Should an entrant initiate arbitration pursuant to this section, the entrant shall be responsible for JAMS’s fees to do so (approximately, $250), with all other costs of such arbitration being borne solely by Sponsor. If entrant is a California resident and Sponsor is the prevailing party in such arbitration, such entrant will not be responsible for Sponsor’s costs and fees in conjunction with the arbitration proceeding; BUT, IN ALL OTHER CASES, ENTRANT WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR SUCH COSTS/FEES IF REQUIRED BY THE ARBITRATOR’S RULING. For the avoidance of doubt, the requirement to arbitrate disputes pursuant to this section is reciprocal and binding both upon entrants and Sponsor. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of entrant and/or Released Parties in connection with the Contest, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of New York, without regard for conflicts of law doctrine of New York or any other jurisdiction, and all proceedings shall take place in the City of New York, County of New York.

  13. Winner’s List: For the names of the winner, mail a self-addressed, stamped envelope to: The Conners Name that Stew Contest, CSM Sport and Entertainment Inc., 440 9th Avenue, 17th Floor, New York, NY 10001, for receipt no later than 2/21/20.
